Title Deed Cards

The following instructions use a Cricut Maker 3 and Design Space's Print then Cut feature to create the Technopoly title deed cards. All cards can be made without a Cricut using a printer, ruler, and paper cutter or scissors.

How to Create Title Deed Cards with Cricut and Design Space

Example of Physical Layer - OSI Model cards (front and back).

Instructions for each card type appear similar but contain small differences that are important to the production process.

Physical Layer - OSI Model

Start a new project.

Open a blank canvas by selecting New Project.

Upload files into Design Space.

Do not remove image background.

Convert image to Flat Graphic to prompt Print Then Cut function.

Upload both Physical Layer - OSI Model front and back graphics.

Resize graphic in Design Space canvas.

Dimensions: 2.25” width x 3.25” height

Add an offset.

Select one graphic and click Offset.

Change offset distance to 0.05 inches.

Select the squared corner.

Change offset color to White.

Group layers.

Select one graphic and its newly created offset layer in the right-hand side panel.

Click the Group icon.

Repeat steps 4-5 for each graphic.

Flatten image.

Select the newly grouped layers and click Flatten.

This triggers Cricut's Print Then Cut feature and ensures the Cricut will only cut around the edges of the card.

Duplicate graphics.

Duplicate the front cards for a total of 4 and the back graphics for a total of 4. You should have 8 cards total.

Align the 4 "front" cards.

Select the graphics.

Click Align.

Then Center Vertically and Distribute Horizontally.

Attach and Flatten.

Select 2 of the front cards.

Click Attach.

Then click Flatten.

Repeat step 9 for the other two front cards.

Each set of 4 cards need to be divided by 2 to fit on the 8.5" x 11" paper for Print then Cut.

Repeat steps 8-10 for the "back" cards.

Make project.

Hide the "back" cards to first print the 4 "front" cards.

Click Make.

Change material size to 8.5 inches x 11 inches.

Rearrange cards on the paper preview.

Two cards should appear on each paper to print.

Arrange one card in the furthest upper right corner and one in the furthest upper left corner. This will help with alignment when printing on both sides.

Send graphics to printer.

Click Continue and then Send to Printer.

Toggle Bleed to the off position.

Toggle Use System Dialog to the on position. This helps to choose the correct paper tray if needed.

Cards will print with a sensor around the graphics to signal the Cricut to cut in the correct places.

Return to canvas to prepare "back" cards.

Unhide the "back" cards and hide the "front" cards to prepare your next print.

Repeat steps 12-15 for "back" cards.

Connect to your Cricut and cut the cards.

How to Make Reusable, Interactive Physical Layer Cards with Vinyl

Add a square shape to the canvas in Design Space.

Resize the square to 1.861" width x 2" height.

Set operation to Basic Cut.

Duplicate squares.

Duplicate until you have a total of 8 squares.

Group all squares together.

Hide grouped shapes until ready to cut. Make the shapes visible when ready to cut.

When ready to cut, click Make and prepare white vinyl on an adhesive mat.

Adhere vinyl to the front and back of each Physical Layer card.

Participants in group game design jam can use dry-erase markers to write on the white vinyl.


Internet Service Provider

Example of Internet Service Provider cards (front and back).

Follow steps 1-18 of the above directions (see slight differences below).

Upload the front and back Internet Service Provider graphics.

Only duplicate the front graphic for a total of 2 cards and the back graphic for a total of 2 cards. You should have a total of 4 cards.

Omit step 10 since there are only 4 total cards instead of 8.

How to Make Reusable, Interactive Internet Service Provider Cards with Vinyl

Add 2 square shapes to the canvas in Design Space

Resize one square to 1.861” width x 1.556” height.

Resize the other square to 1.861” width x 2.153” height.

Set operation to Basic Cut.

Duplicate squares.

Duplicate the smaller square for a total of 2.

Duplicate the larger square for a total of 2.

There should be a total of 4 squares.

Group all squares together.

Hide grouped shapes until ready to cut. Make the shapes visible when ready to cut.

When ready to cut, click Make and prepare white vinyl on an adhesive mat.

Adhere vinyl to the front and back of each Internet Service Provider card.

Place smaller square of vinyl on the front of the card.

Place larger square of vinyl on the back of the card.

Duplicate larger squares for a total of 22.

There should be a total of 44 squares.

Group all squares together.

Hide grouped shapes until ready to cut. Make the shapes visible when ready to cut.

When ready to cut, click Make and prepare white vinyl on an adhesive mat.

Adhere vinyl to the front and back of each District card.

Place smaller square of vinyl on the front of the card.
